8. RemoveBladeSealfromwhitemechanismplate.Discard.
9. Important:
Ifyourmechanismplatehastwoholesatfront(dottedlinesin
Fig.D),ANDnoleakageissuspectedatfoamgasketarea,youdonotneed
toinstallthenewplateprovidedinthiskit.Skipdowntotheheading“To
ReplaceMechanism.”
ToremoveMechanismPlate,loosenthe3Screwsinwellnuts(WN,
Fig.D)andpulltheplateoffthebowl.Ifwell-nutsdonotcomeoutwith
theplatescrews,eitherpushthemthroughtotheinteriororre-insertthe
screwstopullthemout.Discardplateandwell-nuthardware.
10. ScrapeoffoldSealfromchinawithsharptool.Usemineralspiritsor
alcoholtoremoveresidue.
To Replace Mechanism Plate (if it has been removed)
1. Applya1/4”widecontinuousringofcaulksealantaroundthetopofthe
exposedsideoftheatfoamseal.(Fig.E).
2. Lineupwell-nutassembliesonthemechanismplatewiththeholesin
thechinabowl.Thenlineuptheopeningsandpressintoplace.Lightly
hand-tighten the well-nuts to temporarily secure its position.
To Replace Mechanism
1. Wetbladesealwithcleanwater.
2.
Fullyseatnewbladeseal,lipup,ontoMechanismPlate(Fig.E).
3. Toavoiddamagingbladeseal,makesurebladeinnewmechanismis
fullyclosed.Turnmechanismleadscrewcounter-clockwisetoclose
valve(Fig.E).
4. Connect2MotorLeads,yellow-yellow,green-green(Fig.A).
5. Workingfromtheback,positionMechanisminToilet.NOTE: on some
low-prole units, it may be a tight squeeze. Alignmechanismover
MechanismPlate,pressdownandsecurewithfourscrews(MS,Fig.
D).
6. Turntoiletovertocheckcentering.Loosenwell-nutstore-centerif
needed.Do the permanent tightening down of the well-nut screws
at this time by hand. Tighten in a diagonal pattern to get an even
seal. Be careful not to overtighten and cause deection of the plate
at the edges. Wipe off excess sealant when done.
7. If Overow tube present(pre-3-16-03Arias):Cutapproximately1”off
OverowTube.RemovesiliconecapfromMechanism.Formingafull
loop,reattachtoMechanism.Tuckinandawayfromleadscrew.
If Overow tube not present: LeavesiliconecaponMechanism;
proceedtonextstep.
8. IfyouremovedtheControllerAssemblyand/ortheSwitchBox,re-install
now,usingtheadhesivefoampads provided. If you removed Metal
Bracket,reinstall.
9. High Prole:ToinstallExtensionTube(RefertoFig.C):
a. Lubricate sealingsurface of Extension Tube Seal with silicone
grease.
b.InstallExtensionTubeSealonExtensionTube.
c.InstallExtensionTubeandsealassemblyonMechanism.Makesure
thatsealisseatedatleast1/2inchbelowMechanismtubelip.
d.EnsureHoseClamponMountingFlangeSealistight.
e. Lubricate Mounting Flange Seal sealing surface with Silicone
Grease.
f.InstallMountingFlangeandSealassemblyonExtensionTube.Make
surethereisatleasta1/2”overlapbetweentheExtensionTube
andMountingFlangeSeal.
Low Prole:ReplacetheMountingFlangeSealontothelipofthe
MountingFlange.InstallMountingFlangetoMechanism.(Noexten-
siontubeisused.)
10. Replace2MountingBushingswithatsurfaceout.
To Test Mechanism Operation
1. ConnecttoilettoRV’s12VDCpower.
2. Turnon12VDCtotoiletatRVpowerdistributionpanel.
3. PresstheFlushbuttononKeyPadandobservemechanismoperation.
Thesolenoidvalveswillclickonandoffduringtheushcycle.
4. PressbothKeyPadbuttons,twice,toopenblade.
To Replace Toilet To Floor
1. SecurenewClosetFlangeSeal,lipsideup,toToilet.
2. SetToiletcloseenoughtohookupwatersupply.
3. ReconnectWaterSupplyLine.
4. Turnonwaterandcheckforleaksatthewaterconnection.Correctany
leakage.
5. PositionToiletoverange.ArrangewiringclearofMechanismLead
Screw(Fig.E)andbaseoftoilet.
6. SecuretooorwithLagScrews.Tighten.
7. PressToiletushbuttoncontrolstoaddwaterandtoushtest.Check
forleaks.
8. ResecureBoltCaps.
